Mid Autumn Moon Festival

Lillie and I celebrated our first Moon Festival together...a Chinese celebration that occured on Sept 25, when the moon was supposedly the brightest and roundest of the year. I ordered some moon cakes (can't say as I liked them, but...) and we got out our tea set and invited some family to look at the moon with us! Here are a few pics.

The Princess and the Prosthetic

Lillie's new prosthetic!

Lillie has her new foot...and after a few days of being a little uncertain about it, she is now wearing it quite often. She doesn't want it on when she is bare foot (I don't blame her, there really is no reason for it then) but she will put it on to wear with her shoes. Her favorite shoes are her blue Crocs...they are often the shoe of choice. She is also starting to help put the foot on. It is much easier with powder so when it is time, she will go get the powder and rub it on her foot and ankle. It is really cute.
I will post a picture of her "foot" soon, but wanted to let everyone know how things were going. We even painted the toenails...hers and the prosthetic!

Our first Playdate with Lane

Denise and Lane were in visiting from DC and we were so excited to see them and get to play. Lillie and Lane slowly got to know one another and enjoyed their time together. It was great to see them...we hope to see them again very soon!

Ice Cream and Dancing with Clare and Patricia~

Clarissa, Patricia and Janice came into town last weekend for a quick visit. We met for a trip to Graeter's Ice Cream and filled our short time together with lots of fun. After eating the ice cream ( Lillie ate most of P's and we had to get Patricia another cone!) the girls danced to the music. It was great fun~

Of course, I must admit that although I say recent in the title, this trip was actually a few weeks ago. It seems I have had a bit of trouble keeping up with the blog lately...Lillie is not thrilled for mommy to be on the computer so I have to do it during nap time. Naps can often be short so time is limited. We will try to do better!

Meeting our cousin Ava

A couple of weeks ago we had a wonderful visit with my best friend Amy, her husband John and her beautiful daughter Ava. We had a great time and the girls met for the first time. We wanted to take their pictures together in their "China clothes" but as you can see, Lillie was not thrilled with the idea of holding Ava in her lap. Instead, we decided to place them beside one another.
