Things I've Learned during Day #2
I have learned that my Spicy Chongqing girl LOVES water! She loves her bath, she loves fountains and I am hoping she will love the pool tomorrow! She loves to eat... congee, egg, cereal bites, etc. Even more...she loves to be independent! (and of course, that means that 2 spoons are better than one!) I have learned that her independence means that she does not show any interest at this time in her bottle. She doesn't really even like the sippy cup... an open cup, however, is wonderful! I learned that my girl is still a bit uncertain about new places and people... we need a fairly calm environment, or it really stresses her out. I have learned that when you go to have your family picture made for your official documents, you should not have to wake your baby from a nap...the results are a not our best picture! I have learned that once you finally sign those papers and get your forms and are an official family, it is a bit emotional. I didn't have time to get weepy yesterday with the stress of her fear...but today I did cry a bit... I know everyone is surpised! And finally, I have learned that I have received a wonderful blessing from God named Lillie Elizabeth Baoyun Nielsen, who is blessed in turn with so many people who love her. Lets pray that she sleeps better tonight and that tomorrow she feels even more secure!

She looks so happy! She is adorable. Good luck with day 3!
Once again, hello to Lillie and Aunt Pat!
Love,
Caroline
See it doesn't take long to learn your child! Looks as though you also have a camera ham! Her smile is priceless! Love to Pat and Lillie.
I'm so glad to see her laughing and eating. Looks like she is adjusting to her new family. I, too, hope she sleeps tonight so you can rest also, you are going to need it.
Take care. Love ya. Connie
I'm sure that each day, from here on out, you could make a post about things your child will teach you! We are so fortunate to have this blog to keep up with everything...it is almost as good as being there ourselves! (Well, not really, but better than waiting 2 weeks for you to get home before we got any news!) We cannot wait to meet her in person. You are in our thoughts and prayers, virtually every minute of the day, and I know each day will become easier and easier for both of you.
Love, Meg
Hello, Andrea, Pat, and Lillie!
Aunt Zara and I have just viewed the new pictures and they are wonderful.
We are delighted to hear that she likes water; get ready, Uncle BD-Lillie is coming to the pontoon!!
We are so thrilled to see her; all of Glasgow and Nicholasville know the wonders of internet, blogs, and Skype.
Could you talk the powers that be across the Pacific into letting you all come home sooner? I can't wait to hold, hug, and love on her.
Pat, let us see you in a pic. We want to make sure you are surviving grandparenting-Ha! Isn't it wonderful.
Love, hugs, prayers-Aunt Anna
I can't WAIT for y'all to get home, so we can all get to know Lillie!
I am sooo excited to see all these pictures, and know what is happening with you all.
I'm especially glad to hear that the papers and forms are signed!
Love y'all!
Yip Yeppers!
(That means awesome!)
Hey Andrea and Lillie, Cissie let me check out your blog. I got chills watching, listening and reading all about your adventure. I can't wait to meet Lillie and give you a hug and we will schedule a massage for you, the new mommy! I have kept you in my thoughts and prayers and will continue those. Daughters are great!! I kinda like mine. :o)
Love you, NaNa (Donna)
Loves to eat - she is sure to fit into this family!! Amy told us about seeing her on the web cam. we are so excited. Charles commented, "she's one lucky little girl". i totally agree.

Charles and Neva (Papa & Nema)
Wow! She's so beautiful! I agree with Meg...thank God for the wonders of the internet so we can all keep up with the goings on in real time! I can't wait for you to bring Lillie down to Disney World...it's only a short 1 hr. drive from me, so I'm ready when you guys are! And yes, Aunt Anna, I want to see Aunt Pat in a photo...I know she inherited Nana's unphotogenic quality, but we still want to see the huge Granny grin she's sure to have on her face!!!!
Love you all,
Al

WOW -- That is a million dollar smile. I think you should ask someone else to take a pic so we can see all 3 of your smiling faces together.
I agree with everyone else.. I don't know how we would stand it without the wonders of modern technology!
Hope it was a quiet night
much love to all
Amy
What a smile!! It sounds like the Nielsen Family is doing great. Can't wait till we can have swim dates.
Lillie is so beautiful. She is so lucky to have such a great mom. We've been checking for new photos every day. Can't wait to buy her new stuff. Erik says he wished he was there because he thinks the Chinese would treat him like a professional wrestler.
See you soon. Tell Pat, Congrats grandma.
Aunt Cristy and Uncle Erik
